Reply with quote | #11 | When i start my approach, I slide my slide foot into position first. This lets me know if I have stepped in any water or more embarrassing that I have left my shoe cover on. This way I know if I should slide properly or not.
I also have shoes with interchangeable soles. I do not change them often. The different soles do have a break in period. I have been trying to break in all the different soles to help provide more options.
As many have said, it may not have affected the team you were bowling then, but it more than likely affected those using that lane next.
I even got yelled at by Randy Pederson in a pro am when I was young for putting powder on my thumb to close to the approaches. I still don't like him.

The slide socks that slip over the front part of your sliding shoe allow you to slide on just about anything. If you are using them on approaches where someone else is using e-z slide you might not get enough traction to be able to walk, however. I often wonder why bowling centers sell e-z slide, knowing that is going to end up on their approaches and that it is not legal. The first time I ever saw anyone ripped for use of e-z slide was at the ABC (now USBC) nationals. And where did the offending person purchase the contraband substance? Why, from the ABC run booth at the tournament, of course. |
